The Airport Authority Hong Kong is a statutory body wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Established in 1995, the Airport Authority Hong Kong is responsible for the operation and development of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

From April 2001, travellers have enjoyed wireless broadband Internet access at the Hong Kong International Airport, as a result of PCCW Solutions' and the Airport Authority's combined efforts to provide "Wireless LAN" communications services. Internet users no longer need to queue for data ports in major airport areas. Passengers can simply insert a Wireless LAN (Local Area Network) card into their laptops to connect to PCCW's wireless network and then to the Internet.
